The premise
What a farm gives you that a conference room doesn’t
Most offsites are the office with worse coffee. A hotel books you a windowless room, wheels in a projector, and the team spends two days doing what they do every day while sitting slightly closer together.
The argument for coming out here is simple: people talk differently when they are walking. The best hour of most offsites held at Nehamrit has been the walk down to the Kalu river, not the session that was scheduled instead of it.
There is no boardroom on this farm, and we have decided not to build one. What there is, is a colonnade with long tables, a library lounge, a games room, a lawn under old trees and twenty acres to disappear into in pairs.
Where a team can actually sit and talk
The brick colonnade. Long, shaded, open on one side. Trestle tables go up here for working sessions and come down for lunch. It is the closest thing to a room, and it has no walls.
The library lounge. Indoors, quiet, and the place things move to when it rains. Good for a group of eight or ten around one table.
The games room. A full-size pool table and space around it. Where the offsite actually happens, in our experience.
The lawn and the fire pit. Evening sessions, if you insist on having one, are better here than anywhere indoors.
Bring a flip chart if you need one. We do not keep a projector, and nobody has yet missed it.
Connectivity, stated honestly
This is the part other places gloss over, so: Wi-Fi reaches the reception and the library lounge. It is fine for email, messaging and a call at a push. It is not fine for thirty people on video at once.
Mobile signal varies by network and by where on the farm you are standing. Some corners have four bars and some have none.
If your offsite genuinely needs everyone online simultaneously, book a hotel. If it needs everyone off their phones for two days, that problem solves itself here without anybody having to police it — which is what most teams say they wanted afterwards.
Practical middle ground: run the connected half of the agenda in the library lounge in the morning, and put the walking and talking in the afternoon. That is the shape most teams settle into by day two anyway.
A two-day shape that has worked
Day one. Leave the city at seven, arrive by ten. Coffee under the colonnade and straight into the session that matters most, while everyone is fresh. Lunch off the farm’s own harvest. Afternoon walk to the river in pairs, with one question each to come back with. Bonfire, barbecue, pool table, late.
Day two. Birds at half five for the two people who will actually get up. Breakfast slowly. One session to land what came out of the walk. Check out at eleven, lunch before you drive, home by four.
That is the shape, not a package. Nobody here will run a team-building exercise at you.

Possible on a quiet weekday. Tell us the date and the headcount and we will say yes or no rather than maybe.
Food
Feeding a group off the harvest
The Farm Kitchen cooks Maharashtrian and North Indian food from the orchards and the vegetable patch. For a team booking, the sensible option is the full food package at ₹1,750 per person per day, which covers everything and removes the question entirely.
Menus get built with you a week or so beforehand around whatever is in season. Vegetarian, Jain and allergy requirements are straightforward if we know in advance — tell us at booking rather than at the table.
Barbecue on the lawn is the standard evening, and the one that does the most for a group that does not know each other well.
Questions people ask
Do you have a conference room or a projector?
No, and deliberately so. There is a brick colonnade with long tables, a library lounge that seats eight to ten around one table, a games room and a lawn. Bring a flip chart if you need one. Teams who have come here have not missed the projector.
What is the Wi-Fi like for a working offsite?
It reaches the reception and the library lounge and handles email, messaging and the occasional call. It will not carry thirty people on video simultaneously, and mobile signal varies across the farm. If constant connectivity is essential, a hotel is the better choice — we would rather say that now.
How many people can you take for a corporate offsite?
Eight to twelve in the 4-BR Courtyard Villa alone. Up to around thirty-four adults if you take the whole farm — fourteen rooms across four kinds of stay, with no other guests on the property.
Can we book the entire farm for a team?
Yes, and for a group over about twenty it is usually the right answer. A buyout includes all fourteen rooms, the pools, the colonnade, the library lounge, the games room, the fire pit and the twenty acres.
How far is it from Mumbai for a team travelling together?
About 100 km and two to two and a half hours via Kalyan and Murbad — comfortably a morning drive with a seven o’clock start. Around 70 km from Thane. Pune is a similar distance but closer to three hours.
Are meals included for group bookings?
Not automatically, but for a team we would recommend the full food package at ₹1,750 per person per day — all meals, built around the season. Dietary requirements are easy to accommodate with notice.
Can you organise team activities?
We can arrange a local trekking guide, a guided farm tour and the bonfire and barbecue. What we will not do is run corporate team-building exercises. The walk to the river does more for a team than most of them, and it is free.
Do you have a corporate package?
There is a buyout package that we adjust to the group — the blog post has the outline. Send us the headcount and dates and we will put a number against it rather than a brochure.
